Doku returns as Belgium recall Cuypers

Doku has returned to Belgium’s selection for the Nations League group matches against Turkey and Italy. He last represented his country at the World Cup before illness sidelined him for September and October’s opening four fixtures, during which Belgium collected six points.

Monterrey striker Hugo Cuypers is a surprise inclusion. Twenty-year-old Josue Kongolo earns his first call-up after stepping up from the Under-21 side, replacing Koni De Winter. The AC Milan defender reportedly declined selection after becoming frustrated by limited playing time.

Injuries rule out Zeno Debast, while Newcastle’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo misses out after illness disrupted training. Malick Fofana and Lois Openda are absent too.

Belgium travel to Izmir to face Turkey on November 12 before hosting Italy in Brussels three days later.
