Michael Carrick believes Manchester United will add further reinforcements before the transfer window shuts on 1 September, as the club continues to be linked with Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba and a new left‑back. United finished third last season under Carrick’s interim leadership, fuelling hopes of a first Premier League title since 2013. Now confirmed as permanent manager, he insists the squad will be strengthened in the coming days.
Carrick highlighted the arrivals of Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow, while acknowledging fans’ frustration at the recent lack of movement. Still, he stressed the need to focus on Saturday’s trip to promoted Hull and the following match against Ipswich, rejecting the idea that United have an easy start.
He also provided an update on Mason Mount, who has picked up a minor knock but is expected back soon. Tielemans and Santos could make their competitive debuts at Hull.
