Chelsea beats Fulham 1-0 thanks to Palmer's penalty

Chelsea's Cole Palmer scores his ninth Premier League goal of the season to earn a 1-0 win against Fulham in the West London derby. Mauricio Pochettino's team won their third successive Premier League game for the first time this season. After Issa Diop was ruled to have taken down Raheem Sterling on the stroke of half-time at Stamford Bridge, Palmer despatched his sixth spot kick of the season with characteristic calm.

Chelsea later missed a slew of chances to improve their lead and thus had to defend until the very end of the game. The Blues hung on, thanks in part to some great stops from goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, with the tight victory giving a much-needed lift for home fans and bringing Pochettino's team up to eighth in the Premier League table, while Fulham stayed 13th.
