Conte set to leave Napoli despite Scudetto triumph

Antonio Conte is reportedly close to leaving Napoli at the end of the season, despite guiding the club to the 2024/25 Serie A title. Il Mattino reports that both sides have reached an agreement to part ways, bringing his tenure in Naples to an unexpectedly swift conclusion after just one campaign. Conte, whose contract runs until 2027, is said to be willing to forgo his final year’s salary and an €18 million severance clause to ensure a clean, dispute‑free exit.

Although he has restored the Scudetto to the club, the 56‑year‑old is not expected to take another club job immediately, with growing speculation linking him to a future role with the Italian national team. Napoli, meanwhile, have begun planning for life after Conte. Former coach Maurizio Sarri has emerged as the leading candidate to return, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis valuing his experience and familiarity with the club’s environment.
