Farke hails Leeds' historic win at Man Utd

Daniel Farke described Leeds United’s dramatic 2‑1 victory over Manchester United as a major step in their Premier League survival push. Leeds claimed their first league win at Old Trafford since 1981 thanks to a first‑half double from Noah Okafor. United were reduced to ten men when Lisandro Martínez was dismissed for pulling Dominic Calvert‑Lewin’s hair, and although Casemiro’s header set up a tense finish, two late goal‑line clearances preserved the result.

The win, Leeds’ first over United in any competition since 2010, lifted Farke’s newly promoted side six points clear of the relegation zone with six matches remaining. Farke praised his players’ composure, saying the first half should have produced a bigger lead and acknowledging the difficulty of closing out such a match against a squad full of elite talent. He added that the performance reflected Leeds’ true level as they chase safety and prepare for an FA Cup semi‑final against Chelsea.
