Viborg launched their Danish Superliga campaign with a 1–0 home win over OB on Friday night, thanks to a match‑winning solo effort from rising talent Thomas Jorgensen. The 20‑year‑old struck just before the hour mark, bursting past the defence, rounding stand‑in goalkeeper Martin Hansen and calmly finishing to secure all three points for Nickolai Lund’s side.
Both teams showed attacking intent from the outset, hitting the post within the first two minutes through long‑range efforts from Bilal Brahimi and Fiete Arp. OB, missing several key players including suspended goalkeeper Viljar Myhra and injured defender Jens Berthel Askou, still created chances, with Arp twice denied by Viborg keeper Kasper Kiilerich.
OB nearly equalised through Jona Niemiec, but his shot went straight at Kiilerich. Viborg also threatened a second, yet Jorgensen’s goal ultimately proved enough to seal a strong start to the season.
