Los Angeles FC have sacked head coach Marc Dos Santos following Saturday’s 1‑0 loss to FC Dallas, ending his tenure after less than a year. The club announced the decision on Sunday, stating it came after “careful consideration.” President of Soccer Operations John Thorrington thanked Dos Santos for his “commitment, care and contributions,” adding that LAFC wished him and his family well as they move forward.
Dos Santos, who joined the organisation as an assistant in 2022, leaves with LAFC sitting sixth in the Western Conference on 41 points from 28 matches. The club said an interim coach will be named shortly before launching a formal search for a permanent successor.
The 49‑year‑old Canadian departs at a pivotal moment in the season, with LAFC still in playoff contention but struggling for consistency. His dismissal underscores the club’s urgency to stabilise results as the final stretch of the MLS campaign approaches.
