Parma and Cuesta split after just five league matches

Parma have parted ways with manager Carlos Cuesta only five rounds into the Serie A season, announcing the move as a “shared decision” following discussions about the club’s sporting project. The statement explained that the conditions for continuing the partnership “no longer existed,” bringing an early end to the Spaniard’s first senior managerial role. Cuesta, previously an assistant to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, joined Parma in 2025 on a two‑year deal after replacing Cristian Chivu.

In a message posted on Instagram, the 31‑year‑old said he had given everything during an “intense year and a half” and expressed deep affection for the club. The decision comes shortly after Parma claimed their first win of the campaign, a 2‑1 victory over Genoa, though they remain 15th in the standings.
