Mamelodi Sundowns remain firmly in contention for a FIFA Intercontinental Cup clash with Paris Saint‑Germain after defeating Al‑Ahli SFC 2‑1 at Loftus Versfeld to win the African‑Asian‑Pacific Cup. The South African champions advanced thanks to a decisive double from Portuguese forward Nuno Santos, who struck after 17 minutes before an own goal from Ronwen Williams briefly levelled the match. Santos delivered again in the 80th minute, securing Sundowns’ place in the Challenger Cup, the final qualifying step before meeting PSG.
