Nico Paz leaning toward Como stay despite Real Madrid pressure

Nico Paz is inclined to remain with Como for an additional season despite Real Madrid’s intention to activate their nine‑million‑euro buy‑back clause this summer. Italian reports, including those from Gianluca Di Marzio, state that the twenty‑one‑year‑old is torn between Como’s historic Champions League qualification and the prospect of returning to the club where he developed through the academy. Paz joined Como in 2024 for six million euros, with Madrid retaining fifty percent of any future sale and several buy‑back options set at eight, nine and ten million euros across successive summers.

Although Madrid have monitored him closely and appear ready to bring him back, Como coach Cesc Fàbregas has publicly expressed the club’s desire to keep him, especially after Paz was named Serie A’s Best Midfielder. Reports suggest the player himself prefers to stay in Italy, while Como hope Madrid’s upcoming presidential elections may delay any decisive move.
