PSV have been hit with another major setback after Peter Bosz confirmed that Alassane Plea will miss the remainder of 2026. The French striker, who had only just returned from a year‑long knee injury, suffered a new setback in training following his season debut against Fortuna Sittard and has since undergone surgery. He has not played since that match, extending a difficult run for the Eredivisie champions.
Plea’s absence adds to a growing injury list. Ricardo Pepi is sidelined for several weeks, Paul Wanner returned from international duty with a foot problem, and Lutsharel Geertruida withdrew from the Netherlands squad, though Bosz expects him back soon. With Sam Lammers also unavailable, PSV currently have no fit senior striker, meaning midfielders Guus Til and Sven Mijnans will cover the role. After a 3–2 loss to FC Twente, PSV sit third and resume their league campaign on 9 October at home to Heerenveen.
