The shield that will be stamped on the São Paulo team's kit from January onwards features a crown on the logo and between the stars that represent the 1962 and 1963 club world titles, which Santos won when they had what is considered by many to be the best soccer player in the world.
The new shield, provided for in the statute approved by the Santos board last November, will adorn the uniforms of the men's and women's, professional and youth football teams, in addition to the Santos futsal teams.
The homage was presented at a press conference on Tuesday at the club's headquarters, and the official debut of the equipment with the new shield is scheduled for January 4th, when Santos' under-20s face São Raimundo, in the city of Saint Andrew.
