Serie A: Napoli 0-0 Hellas Verona

Victor Osimhen, who is back in shape after missing Tuesday's Champions League match against Milan, started Saturday's match on the bench alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as Spalletti managed his team. After the late entrance of their star combination, Napoli struggled for inspiration in a low-key match and came the closest when Osimhen rattled the crossbar with an excellent effort. After 20 minutes, Matteo Politano's shot appeared to have given Napoli the lead, but the goal was disallowed because Mathias Olivera was offside.

As halftime drew near, Alex Meret was forced to deny a rasping long-range shot from Kevin Lasagna as the depleted hosts struggled to generate offence in a dull first half. After Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's cross was nearly cleared by Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo after 56 minutes, Giacomo Raspadori's nudged shot was off-target.
