Fnatic achieved a significant milestone by defeating G2 Esports in a best-of-five series in League of Legends for the first time in over two years, advancing to the final of the 2024 LEC Summer Split. The series, held on July 22, began with G2 taking the first game. However, Fnatic responded with two impressive wins, driven by standout performances from Humanoid and Noah. G2 managed to equalize in the fourth game, leading to a decisive fifth match.
In game five, Razork, finally able to pick Nidalee after it was banned in previous games, played a pivotal role. His early game dominance helped secure leads for Fnatic in the top and mid lanes. Despite G2’s ADC Hans Sama posing a threat, he was frequently neutralized by Fnatic. This victory marked Fnatic's first BO5 series win against G2 since March 2022, when they triumphed 3-1 in the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs.
