LCS, LLA, and CBLOL are merging into one

Riot Games is overhauling the League of Legends esports ecosystem starting in 2025, introducing a unified split schedule for all regions and reducing the number of teams in tier-one leagues. The competitive year will now begin with the Winter Split, followed by an unnamed third international event, the Spring Split, the Mid-Season Invitational, and then the Summer Split leading to the World Championship.

Next season, several tier-one leagues will merge with neighboring regions, including a merger of the LCS, CBLOL, and LLA. This new structure will adopt a three-split format to enhance competition and showcase regional talent through a conference system. This system organizes teams based on geographic regions or competitive levels, with regular-season play within each conference and inter-conference matches, leading to playoffs or championship tournaments. Additionally, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, Vietnam, and Oceania will merge into a single multi-region league called League’s APAC.
