After the Worlds play-in stage concluded on Oct. 15, the 16 League of Legends teams playing in the tournament's main event were drawn into a Swiss-style bracket ahead of the newly formed Worlds Swiss stage. The Swiss part of the World Championship will replace the conventional group stage that fans are accustomed to.
First up is Dplus KIA vs. G2 Esports, Over the last several years, the two teams' matchups have swiftly emerged into a beloved East-West rivalry in the professional League, with the two clubs meeting each other in 10 individual games dating back to 2019. The two teams are nearly equal in those ten games, with Dplus owning a six-to-four lead. Next Cloud9 vs. MAD Lions, the two teams will face each other for the first time in almost two years on the first day of the 2023 Swiss stage. Lastly, Bilibili Gaming vs. KT Rolster, the two dark horses from China and Korea, will meet off on the Worlds stage.
