Riot Games has unveiled new custom global emotes for all tier-one League of Legends teams, set to debut on August 27 in Riot regions and August 28 in China. Following the 2023 Season Kickoff emotes, these 2024 emotes aim to enhance fan engagement by featuring unique designs for each team. Priced at 350 RP, they will allocate 30% of the gross revenue to the teams behind the emotes. Teams have crafted creative designs that celebrate their history and fan culture, such as Dignitas’ Baron Nashor-themed emote, referencing a longstanding meme, and Cloud9’s “Clown Jinx,” playing on the “Clown9” nickname.
The LEC has provided clarity on team-specific emotes, including BDS’ return of the controversial bait ping, which Riot had previously banned due to its misuse. This has sparked significant discussion and curiosity among fans.
