Brøndby go top for first time in two years after win at Horsens

Brøndby climbed to first place in the Danish Superliga for the first time since May 2024 after a composed 2–0 victory away to newly promoted AC Horsens. Unbeaten after three rounds, the Vestegnen club now lead the table with two wins and a draw, taking advantage of FC Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland sitting out the weekend due to European commitments.

The visitors struck after just 12 minutes when Mats Köhlert’s cross found 21‑year‑old Australian Marcus Younis, who headed in clinically. Brøndby doubled their advantage on the hour mark as Oliver Villadsen’s delivery caused confusion at the far post, with 18‑year‑old Mikkel Kupijbida inadvertently turning the ball past his own goalkeeper.

Thomas Nørgaard’s side controlled proceedings from there, maintaining their unbeaten start and celebrating a return to the league summit. Horsens, meanwhile, have collected only one point since their Superliga comeback.
