Atleti set to seal Jonathan David loan deal

Atlético Madrid are closing in on a deal for Jonathan David, with press reporting that the Spanish club and Juventus are close to agreeing a loan move with an option to buy. The Canadian striker, who joined Juventus only a year ago and has scored eight goals in forty‑six appearances, has already approved the transfer. However, his departure will only be sanctioned once Juventus secure an attacking reinforcement.

Nick Woltemade and Joshua Zirkzee are currently the leading candidates on their shortlist. Atlético are pushing to accelerate negotiations and practically finalised the agreement. Porto’s interest in David earlier in the summer did not progress, leaving Atleti as the main contenders. Despite Juventus’ conditions, optimism remains high in Madrid as the club looks to strengthen its forward line with a player long admired by the coaching staff.
