Anthony Davis is hoping for the upcoming season to get underway after a fruitful summer. Davis, one of the league’s top players, is eager to suit up for the 2018-19 campaign. During a private meeting with James over the summer, Ham told him that he planned to run his system through Davis in 2022-23. Davis averaged 23.2 points and 9.9 rebounds in 2021-22 while shooting 53.2% from the field. He only played in 40 games, however. In late December through early January of 2019, Davis sustained an MCL sprain in his left knee, causing him to miss 17 additional games. Later in February, Davis also suffered a right mid-foot sprain against the Utah Jazz, causing him to miss 18 additional games.
“All I can do is lead by my actions, I’m excited for this challenge and what’s ahead. I think we have a great group of guys to get the job done. We’re the underdogs,” remarked Davis.
