Los Angeles Clippers star forward Kawhi Leonard expressed that he felt good after participating in his first preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, despite his team narrowly losing 91-90. Leonard played the first half of the game on Saturday, marking his return to action since April. Given Leonard’s history of knee problems, there was concern surrounding his performance, but at halftime, he reassured the media that he felt fine.
Leonard has been plagued by lower-body injuries throughout much of his career, with knee inflammation being the latest issue, which also forced him to miss the Paris Olympics. He has been absent from much of the Clippers' training camp to focus on strengthening his knee. Last season, Leonard seemed to have turned a corner, playing in 68 regular-season games, his highest since the 2016-17 season.
