Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has been diagnosed with a meniscus injury following medical exams. While he does not currently require surgery, he is ruled out indefinitely and will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks. The issue was confirmed after Sabonis missed the recent loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to left knee soreness.
Despite averaging 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds with 51% shooting in 11 games, the season has been physically challenging for the 29-year-old. He had already missed three games earlier this year due to a hamstring strain and a rib contusion.
The injury comes at a devastating time for the Kings, who have plummeted to the bottom of the Western Conference with a 3-12 record. Having already suffered seven consecutive double-digit losses, Sacramento now faces the prospect of navigating this crisis without their star big man, further jeopardizing an already delicate season.
