Kyrie and Nets are far from reaching a consensus

Brooklyn Nets after all the drama the entire season knew their negotiations with Kyrie Irving would not be easy,  but it looks like both the party have reached a workable agreement. Irving has the chance to enter free agency this month and he can do so by opting out of his contract. The talks about an extension on the contract have not made any headway.

All the signs point towards the All- Star pulling the plug on his future with Nets and trying out different teams this offseason. If they part both the parties would lose a lot, and it would be difficult for the franchise to find his replacement meanwhile it would be impossible for Irving to match his lucrative deal with Nets of five-year, with a $245.6 million max extension. This season Irving played just 29 games and needs to make a decision by June 29.
