Hampshire have secured the signing of Indian all‑rounder Ashutosh Sharma for the men’s Metro Bank One‑Day Cup, adding one of the IPL’s most dynamic hitters to their squad. The 27‑year‑old, who represents Delhi Capitals under the same GMR ownership, has amassed more than 375 runs across the last two IPL seasons, averaging 31.25 with a strike rate of 170. Sharma also holds the record for the fastest T20 fifty by an Indian, reaching the milestone in just eleven balls for Railways during the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Hampshire Director of Cricket Giles White praised Sharma’s potential and recent high‑level performances, expressing excitement about his arrival as the club aims to improve on last year’s campaign. In List A cricket, Sharma has scored 458 runs in twenty‑one matches and has featured in ninety‑one domestic games since debuting for Madhya Pradesh in 2017. He first appeared in the IPL with Punjab Kings before joining Delhi in 2025.
