Gujarat Titans have appointed Australian legend Matthew Hayden as their new batting coach, marking a significant addition to the franchise’s support staff. Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki described the move as a crucial step in strengthening the team’s long‑term structure, highlighting Hayden’s elite experience and proven ability to guide emerging players. Solanki noted that his presence will be central to shaping the Titans’ batting philosophy in the seasons ahead.
Hayden, known for his dominant style at the crease, embraced the challenge with characteristic intensity, stating that while good batting applies pressure, great batting “owns the game”—a standard he aims to instill within the squad. Across 273 international appearances, he amassed more than 15,000 runs and played key roles in multiple ICC triumphs. His coaching résumé includes work with Pakistan, and he brings IPL experience from his stint with Chennai Super Kings, where he scored 1107 runs in 32 matches.
