Cloud9 drops to a record low

This year’s League of Legends World Championship will not be the same.100 Thieves in one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season defeated Cloud9 meaning they will be absent from this year's event.

C9 has represented NA in the premier tournament for more than ten years, however this year, despite an almost flawless Summer Split, there won't be a C9 redemption story in Europe. Rather, following a 3-1 victory on September 1 that featured outstanding performances from Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung and Frank “Tomo” Lam, 100 Thieves will represent the LCS. The two teams split the first two games of the series, however after losing game two, 100T never looked back, defeating C9 in less than an hour to guarantee the organization's first Worlds berth since 2022. Next Saturday, 100 Thieves will take against FlyQuest, and the victor will face Liquid on Championship Sunday in an effort to ruin their perfect Summer Split.
