FlyQuest benched VicLa

FlyQuest has made a change for the final stretch of the Summer Split in an effort to avoid missing the LCS playoffs entirely. Instead of starting mid laner VicLa, the team has elevated in-house prodigy Djalal "Spirax" Djiar, who will be making his North American League of Legends debut. Chris "PapaSmithy" Smith, the president of FlyQuest, and general manager Nicholas Phan spoke in-depth about the choice in a video on July 11; they said that the team's performance, at 3-9, "had fallen below pre-season expectations."

After playing college League for Maryville University for a year, Spirax joined FlyQuest's academy roster in November 2021. Despite the team's elimination from the 2022 LCS Proving Grounds outside the top six, Spirax had performed well enough to gain a promotion to the organization's Challengers team before the 2023 NACL season.
