Longtime LCS top laner Ssumday surprised FlyQuest

As a response to Impact's K'Sante during today's LCS Spring Split week six match between Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest, veteran LCS top laner Ssumday shocked both FlyQuest and the audience by putting Garen, the Might of Demacia, onto the Rift. Although the champion being featured in the game since 2010, this is the first time in the LCS' 11-year existence that Garen has ever been played.

Since his debut, Garen has largely stayed the same champion. His straightforward playstyle of whirling and using his sword to slay enemies makes him highly approachable for new gamers. Garen is more than capable of causing tremendous damage to opponents while still emerging uninjured because of the silence, true damage, self-mitigated damage, and self-healing that are all contained within his abilities. With this performance, it's probable that the LCS teams will now need to get ready in case a Garen selection occurs during their matches.
