LEC’s Misfits Gaming has decided to step down from competitive League of Legends tournament after putting in six years of hard work. Misfits Gaming’s spots was sold to Spanish esports organization Team Heretics. By the end of the year, the group will also leave LFL, but will continue fielding teams in Overwatch League, Call of Duty League ,and VALORANT.
CEO Ben Spoont commented, “It’s bittersweet to know that our mission to diversify means that we cannot be in all places at once and we’re sad to say so long to the loving camaraderie and competitiveness of the LEC.” Misfits have featured some of the best European players throughout the six year period, top laner Alphari, mid laner PowerOfEvil, AD carry Hans sama, and popular Korean support IgNar have all been represented Misfits at some time.
