NRG's recent victory breaks LCS record

Since CLG in the 2015 Summer Split, NRG is the first LCS team to take home the domestic crown with two local solo laners. Since then, at least one solo laner who was born outside of North America has been a part of the winning team. In 2015, CLG won the LCS championship for the first time with a complete North American lineup. Their single laners were ZionSpartan (Darshan) and Pobelter, with Doublelift and Aphromoo manning the bot lane and Xmithie prowling the jungle. It almost seems poetic for the team to push NA back to the top with NRG taking up CLG's LCS spot after their purchase in 2023.

Additionally, the LCS's first seed at Worlds will have a native mid laner for the first time since 2018 at this point. Along with Cloud9, Team Liquid, and even Golden Guardians, if they triumph in the Worlds Qualifying Series on October 9, NRG will represent the region at Worlds 2023.
