Schalke 04 might be selling its LEC spot

Founding teams of LEC looking for a way out of financial crisis and looks at selling its LEC spot as a last resort. The organization is suffering from its Bundesliga team as well the team is ranked 18th on the table while the resignation of the president and health issues grip the organization. A year ago Schalke was in 200 million euros debt and now because of pandemic, their woes have doubled forcing the team to have a hard look at their esports spot.

If their Bundesliga team does not change in the near future sale of the LEC spot is inevitable. If S04 pulls out riot would have a hard time looking for another team to take their spot. Roughly they could make 20 million euros from the spot, currently, the team is 5-6 in the 2021 LEC Spring Split.
