As per Josep Maria Bartomeu, Lionel Messi will retire at Barcelona

The 33-year old had been burning with self-guilt and criticized after they lost the final home game against Osasuna. This also gave rise to the assumption that he had not been so happy in Catalonia. Bartomeu confirms that despite everything, he is strongly commited to the cause and will finish his august career with the club in a few years. He further adds that Messi himself claims that he wishes to finish his professional playing career at Barcelona which is the only club for him. He is confident about him ending his career at Barcelona only. He says that Messi has been there since he was a kid and knows the ins and outs and has been a part of the club's history. He calls him the best player in the world throughout the game's history.
