Atalanta 2-2 draw with Verona

In Monday night's Serie A match, Atalanta let a two-goal lead slip away as they drew 2-2 with Verona. On Thursday night, Gian Piero Gasperini's team stunned Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarterfinal. However, against relegation-threatened Verona, they were far from their best.

Gianluca Scamacca gave Atalanta the early lead in the game with a beautiful volley in the 13th minute, and Ederson added another goal five minutes later with a well-executed finish. While the hosts dominated possession and had most of the opportunities in the first half, Verona responded with two goals in as many minutes in the second half. Darko Lazovic scored his first goal since October 2023 from 20 yards out in the 56th minute, and Tijjani Noslin followed four minutes later with a header after meeting Fabien Centonze's cross.
