Athletic Bilbao beat Girona 3-2

Runner-up Girona fell 3-2 against Athletic Bilbao on Monday, missing an opportunity to close the gap between Real Madrid and the Spanish league leaders. The Catalan team was six points behind Real Madrid after being destroyed by goals from Alex Berenguer and Inaki Williams, despite having the opportunity to cut the deficit to three points.
