Brentford 0-0 draw with Brighton

In the Premier League on Wednesday, Brentford drew 0-0 with Brighton to move one point closer to safety. Despite Brentford's six-point lead over the relegation zone following Luton's 2-0 loss to Arsenal, Thomas Frank's squad has now lost eight straight games. Brighton, on the other hand, lost the opportunity to benefit from the points that Wolverhampton, West Ham, and Newcastle dropped this week in the race to play in Europe next season.

In the first half, Bart Verbruggen denied Ivan Toney, while Yoane Wissa came dangerously close to scoring Brentford's first goal. After missing two months due to injury, Joao Pedro returned to Brighton and pushed Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken into a save. Danny Welbeck, a replacement for Brighton, missed two opportunities to win it in stoppage time: first, he headed a corner and then missed a low drive.
