Casemiro insists hunger remains as Miami chapter begins

Casemiro declared that his motivation “to be the best and to win” remains intact as he was unveiled by Inter Miami, joining the MLS club as a free agent on a deal running through the 2027 Sprint campaign with an option to extend to 2029. The 34‑year‑old, who lifted five Champions League trophies with Real Madrid and later won the League Cup and FA Cup at Manchester United, thanked the Mas family, David Beckham and Lionel Messi, calling it an honour to play alongside the Argentine star.

He said Miami had always been his preferred destination and praised the welcome he received after debuting in a 1‑0 win over Montreal. Casemiro also addressed the league’s discovery‑rights process, as MLS investigates alleged tampering involving LA Galaxy, who previously held his priority rights. Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas stressed the club followed protocol and reached a settlement before proceeding with the signing.
