Fuseini earns late Ghana call‑up ahead of 2027 AFCON Qualifiers

Mohammed Fuseini has received a late call‑up to Ghana’s squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Gambia, as well as a friendly against Morocco. The Derby County forward replaces Mohammed Kudus, who withdrew to continue his recovery after returning from a seven‑month injury lay‑off at Tottenham. Doubts also remain over Prince Adu Kwabena, who suffered a head injury while playing for Viktoria Plzen and is awaiting further medical assessment.

Fuseini returns to the national setup more than a year after making his debut at the 2025 Unity Cup, where he scored in his first start during a 4‑0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. Now on loan from Union Saint‑Gilloise, he has begun the 2026/27 season positively, netting a stoppage‑time equaliser for Derby in a 1‑1 draw at Burnley. He is expected to join Ghana’s camp this week ahead of the opener in Bouaké on September 24.
