Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1

On a crucial day in the championship race, Salah's outstanding goal in the second half puts Liverpool on 67 points, three ahead of second-place Arsenal and four ahead of City. Though only one of his 12 efforts on goal was ultimately successful, the Egyptian striker tormented Brighton, setting a new record most shots in a Premier League match. After 84 seconds, Danny Welbeck gave Brighton the lead when his team broke up a Liverpool assault, bounded forward to find him well inside the box, and he scored with a powerful effort that beat Caoimhin Kelleher to end the tie.

Liverpool was stunned by the early goal, and they leveled the score in the 27th minute when Luis Diaz, a Colombian winger, got behind the defense and hooked the ball in when Joel Veltman's attempted clearance went astray.
