Mount scare in United’s draw with PSG

Manchester United were forced into an early change during their 1‑1 pre‑season draw with Paris Saint‑Germain after Mason Mount suffered a minor injury scare. The midfielder, who has endured fitness issues since joining from Chelsea in 2023, lasted less than twenty minutes before signalling discomfort in his foot and being replaced by Tyler Fletcher. Michael Carrick said Mount “got kicked” and stressed the decision was precautionary, noting United have avoided major injuries so far. Post‑match footage showed Mount walking unaided, easing concerns.

United had fallen behind in the second minute to an Ibrahim Mbaye strike, but Bryan Mbeumo levelled shortly after the half‑hour following good work from Amad Diallo. Veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton later picked up a hamstring problem, adding to the day’s worries. United created late chances through Fletcher, Shea Lacey and Bruno Fernandes, who combined well with new signing Youri Tielemans. Two friendlies remain before their Premier League opener at Hull.
