PSV beat Lens 1-0

With help from Johan Bakayoko, PSV's leading scorer Luuk de Jong was able to register his first goal of the match after just 12 minutes of play. The first half was dominated by the hosts, and it was evident from Lens's several yellow cards in the opening forty-five minutes that PSV was causing the French team problems. Both teams had chances in the second half; Hirving Lozano of PSV had several, but he was unable to take advantage of them. With a few minutes remaining, El Aynaoui of Lens took a close-range shot, but the ball bounced back off the post, just inches from giving PSV the victory.

After replacing Lens in the 78th minute, Guinean player Morgan Guilavogui was unable to play the entire match because he received two yellow cards in a 15-minute period. After ninety-six minutes, PSV won the game 1-0.
