Queiroz returns as Ghana manager just two months after stepping down

Carlos Queiroz has been reappointed as Ghana manager only two months after leaving the post following the Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup exit. The Ghana Football Association confirmed it had reached an agreement with the 73‑year‑old to lead the team into its next competitive phase, beginning with the upcoming international call‑up.

The GFA said Queiroz’s extensive international background, tactical expertise and knowledge of the squad make him the ideal figure to guide Ghana forward. His initial short‑term deal, signed last April, was designed around the World Cup campaign, where Ghana reached the round of 32 before losing 1‑0 to Colombia.

After the tournament, Queiroz posted a farewell message expressing pride mixed with “healthy dissatisfaction,” praising fans for restoring credibility on the global stage. The GFA later clarified that his previous contract had simply expired, paving the way for his swift return to the dugout.
