Las Palmas got reduced to ten men in the first half and Barcelona took advantage by defeating the visitors 1-0 in the second half thanks to a header from winger Raphinha, extending their winning run in La Liga to nine games. In the 35th minute, Lewandowski had a chance to increase their advantage but his header struck the crossbar.
Minutes after halftime, Raphinha again failed to find the target, and Fermin Lopez then attempted a shot for the bottom corner but it went inches wide of the post. Barcelona has won seven of its past nine La Liga games to advance to 67 points from 30 games. They will take on Paris St. Germain in the Champions League quarterfinals next month. With their worst losing streak of the season now at six games, the outcome dropped Las Palmas to 12th place with 37 points.
