Stunning Sterling kept Manchester City on top of Premier League

Raheem Sterling bagged a hat-trick for Manchester City as they beat Watford 3-1 to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

It wasn't all smooth sailing for Pep Guardiola's side as, despite their dominance, they struggled to break the Hornets down, going in at the break with the scores locked at 0-0. City opened the scoring in controversial fashion, with the Englishman clearly offside shortly after the start of the second half. But after that there was little doubt about the outcome.

Within 13 minutes and 12 seconds of his first, Sterling had completed the fastest Premier League hat-trick since Romelu Lukaku's against Sunderland in September 2016. It was a day for speed records, as Gerard Deulofeu came off the bench to score within 17 seconds of his introduction.

The Spaniard's strike was the quickest for a substitute since Sammy Ameobi netted in 2014.
