Iran won the Central Asia Cup of Nations on Tuesday, beating Uzbekistan (1-0) in the final of the competition, with an assist from Mehdi Taremi.
After a goalless first half, the only goal of the match came in the opening stretch of the second half, when Mehdi Taremi assisted Azmoun, which provoked great celebrations from the Iranian fans.
Despite the substitutions, there were no further changes to the scoreboard, in a final that also saw the expulsion of Kanaanizadegan in added time (90+1').
In this way, Iran, after having finished Group B in the lead, won the trophy, a few months after Carlos Queiroz left the leadership of the selection.
