Verona Monza stuck at a goalless draw

After the scoreless draw with Spezia, Hellas was still in the bottom three and was without Kevin Lasagna, Isak Hien, Miguel Veloso, Ajdin Hrustic, Milan Djuric, Ibrahim Sulemana, Federico Ceccherini, Thomas Henry, and January acquisition Cyril Ngonge for this match. With Marlon, Nicola Rovella, and Dany Mota Carvalho absent, Monza wasn't doing much better, but Filippo Ranocchia was back in the lineup. Patrick Ciurria hit a long-range shot straight at Lorenzo Montip, Matteo Pessina fired over, Michele Di Gregorio gloved a cross-shot from Yayah Kallon, and Andrea Petagna headed a corner off-target.

After Ondrej Duda's shot was charged down and rebounded into the direction of Simone Verdi, who blasted into the top of the goal from 12 yards, Verona grabbed the lead rather against the flow of play. Adolfo Gaich had a chance to make it 2-0 but mishandled the shot into Di Gregorio's arms. This costly error cost them the match as Monza quickly equalised.
