The West Ham players who took to the stands at the AFAS Stadion to protect their families from the wrath of the AZ Alkmaar ultras after their 0-1 victory to qualify for the Europa Conference League final could be severely punished.
The news is advanced Sunday by the British newspaper The Telegraph, which writes that the case is currently in the hands of the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the body that governs football in the Old Continent.
This means that Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Flynn Downes and Michail Antonio may even be prevented from disputing the trophy, with Fiorentina, on the 7th of June, if they are found guilty of attacking fans.
It will now be up to these players, as well as those responsible for the hammers, to raise awareness at UEFA in order to ensure that they do not miss out on the long-awaited final.
