Kyrie Irving has been the center of the news stories at the moment for his stand against the vaccine mandates. While Brooklyn Nets on the other hand have agreed to the citywide precautions and mandated vaccinations for their players before they can play any of the matches this season. The stand-off between the two is going to cost Irving millions of dollars as Nets would choose not to offer a $186 million extension to the player.
While Irving has not yet featured in any of the matches because he refuses to get vaccinated but the cost for it is not just missed a couple of games. If he remains unvaccinated, the player would not even receive the $16 million in his contract for the 2021-22 season as well. While his decision to support the voiceless remains his choice but it would cost him his future with the Nets.
