Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88

Tatum scored 31 points, had 11 assists, and grabbed eight rebounds as the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 on Monday night to win their 18th championship, surpassing the Lakers for the most in NBA history. This victory came on the 16th anniversary of Boston's 2008 title and marks the 13th championship by one of the city's Big 4 sports teams this century.

“It means the world,” Tatum said after receiving the trophy from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. Jaylen Brown added 21 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, earning the NBA Finals MVP. Jrue Holiday contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis returned from injury to score five points in 17 minutes. The Celtics completed a 16-3 postseason, finishing with an 80-21 record, the second-best in team history. Coach Mazzulla, at 35, became the youngest to win a title since Bill Russell in 1969.
