Alex Fudge, a former Mavericks forward, joins the Lakers following his release by Dallas along with the Kessler Edwards trade. Last season, Fudge agreed to a two-way contract with Dallas; he is now playing with the Lakers again. Less than a month before training camp, this trade was completed, and over the next weeks, other agreements from around the league may be finalized.
Prior to joining the Mavs last season, Fudge was a member of the Lakers. The Lakers have a stronger roster than most people realize, so he will have to compete for a position throughout training camp. Fudge scored 5.5 points per game and shot 55.6 percent from the field in two games for Dallas. Fudge spent the majority of his career in the G League and never really had a shot with the Mavs. Although he is an excellent defender, his attacking potential is still unrealized.
