The Denver Nuggets have bolstered their frontcourt depth with the signing of former Dallas Mavericks forward Kessler Edwards, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Edwards, who spent last season on a two-way contract with Dallas, gained significant playing time due to injuries in the Mavericks’ frontcourt, including absences to Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, and Dereck Lively II. He even took on small-ball center duties—a position new to him—and performed effectively.
Across 40 appearances, including 18 starts, Edwards averaged 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while shooting a career-high 40.9% from three-point range. Drafted 44th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets, Edwards spent a season and a half with Brooklyn before being traded to Sacramento for the rights to David Michineau in a move that was largely a salary dump. His versatility adds valuable depth for Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.
